David Turner
David’s has 30 years of procurement, supply chain and operations management experience in both the private and public sectors.
A major part of David’s career was at HSBC where he held various senior management positions in Procurement, Operations Management , Strategic Sourcing and project managing global eProcurement programmes including eAuctions & eSourcing. He delivered significant savings and operational efficiencies.
From 2005 he established Places for People’s Central Procurement unit delivering both substantial savings and procurement procedural and process improvements, including EU Procurement compliance. He was also responsible for Insurance and Fleet provisionDavid also implemented eProcurement, eAuctions and the Purchase Card programme at Places for People.
In 2008 David launched ARR Spend Management Solutions Ltd and in 2009 joined forces with Douglas MacKellar to form Sourcing Vantage. This powerful combination positions Sourcing Vantage as one of the premier, new leading edge procurement consultancies in the UK today.

Douglas MacKellar
Douglas was a board member of ICI’s global Purchasing and Supply where he was Head of Global IT procurement.
He was a key player in a major procurement transformation project involving ICI’s total global spend. In 2002, he established his own company Supply Side Focus Ltd, specialising in procurement where his work has included all levels of procurement from the strategic (procurement diagnostics, strategy formation and development) through to the ‘hands on’ delivery of procurement activities, including leading a pan-European catering procurement project, procurement skills assessments, commodity trading, contract reviews and supplier negotiations.
A Non-executive Director of Advanced Procurement for Universities and Colleges Ltd (APUC Ltd) which is a company established as a result of the McClelland Report ‘Review of Public Procurement in Scotland’.
In 2009 Douglas launched Sourcing Vantage Ltd with David Turner combining both David’s and his vast experience and knowledge.
